About this folder
Lecture Inbox
Drop any audio file in here and the NAS will transcribe it, summarise it, and
file it under the right course automatically — usually within 20 minutes.
You normally don't need this folder. Recording with Obsidian's own
Audio recorder (the microphone in the left ribbon, or "Start recording
audio" in the command palette) already works on its own: it saves the file into
the vault and the pipeline picks it up from there.
This folder is for everything else — a voice memo from your phone, a handheld
recorder, a Zoom recording. Any of .webm .m4a .mp3 .wav .ogg .opus .aac .flac .mp4.
How it decides which class it was
By when the recording was made, matched against your timetable in Panda
Planner. A file recorded Tuesday 11:30–12:50 becomes EC 270. If nothing on your
timetable matches, it is filed under Unfiled rather than thrown away — so a
recording from a guest lecture or a study group still gets transcribed.
If you copy an old recording in here, its timestamp is what counts, not when you
copied it.
What you get
Two notes per lecture, in that course's folder:
Lecture Notes/EC 270 - <date> - Lecture NN.md— study notes: key concepts,
formulas, worked examples, anything the prof flagged as testable, and any
deadlines mentioned.Transcripts/EC 270 - <date> - Transcript.md— the full timestamped transcript.
The audio itself is moved to the NAS (configs/lectures/archive/) and removed
from the vault, so a term of recordings doesn't bloat your sync.
Anything under 60 seconds is ignored as a misclick.
